Bump on the ole Noggin.

Elbert got a knot on his head Tuesday night. Fell again. So, I headed over Wednesday morning to see how he was doing. There he was sitting at the table in the dining room eyes closed but he smiled at me when I spoke to him and I actually got a bit of conversation out of him for a half hour and then he closed those eyes again and was out like a light. But, talking was fun for a little while. He seemed briefly interested when I mentioned that it was cooler outside. I even started naming off places we had lived when he was in the Navy and when I was finished I asked if he remembered any of them and he nodded his head. Now, to tell you the truth, I don't know if he remembers anything about his Navy days or any other days but it was comforting to me to have that response out of him. If he only knew what an appropriate word or two means to me............ but I take what I can get and ask for nothing else.

So sorry to hear that Elbert fell, but it's good he didn't break a bone.

Alzheimer's really changes our expectations and appreciations, doesn't it.......

You're such a sweet and loving wife to Elbert!

Sorry to hear that he fell, but so happy to hear that he was awake for a while, and able to chat with you. I'm sure that was very reassuring for you.

Having a small conversation with Elbert must have been simply joyous to you, Latane. Everything changes with Altzheimers. I look up to you so much. You seem to have a way of understanding so many things in your life.

I am so sorry that Elbert fell. It made me wince when I saw the man with a head bump in the beginning of your post. I just knew it was going to be your dear Elbert. Hope all is well now.

I sincerley hope you have a good 4th of July. I am sure you will be with family ...as we will be, too.

Take care....

So glad you had a nice talk with Elbert. And I am glad he only got a small bump on the noggin. Those falls can be scary.
